Showroom display has been refreshed

Time really flys by as it is already mid-November.
The morning and evening air is becoming colder, and the days are getting shorter too.
With the turning of the season have you caught a cold yet?

As the season changes, so too has the display in our showroom.
Our display space cannot show a great amount of stock but our interior coordinator has been able to arrange a select, small arrangement of furniture and decorative interior pieces. The entire floor has been renewed.

This photograph was taken from the entrance of our showroom.

The above photos are rarely seen by our visitors. It is our showroom during the night.

During the day, sunlight streams through our big windows, making our showroom bright and inviting.

By the way, all the furniture seen in the photos were used in our customer's homes and have become second-hand goods.
May's is not just a new furniture seller. We have good stocks of second-hand goods of various designs due to the returned goods from our furniture lease service.

Our second-hand goods are meticulously maintained and reconditioned at our warehouse and brought to our showroom for sale. Please visit our showroom to see the great condition and value of our second-hand offerings.

August Fireworks

During August, summer firework festivals are held all around Japan.
At the beginning of this month, I went to the Arakawa river fireworks display.
Everyone was looking forward to these fireworks because they were cancelled last year.
We hoped the organisers would produce something extra special.
We weren't disappointed! The fireworks ran for two hours and ended with a surprising finale.

Many people lined both sides of the large Arakawa river bank and levy for a good view.

August is the hottest month of the Summer season. It seams this years is exceptionally hot.
Many people wore traditional Yukata clothing with wooden shoes (geta) and cooled themselves with classic round paper fans. Small stalls lined the bank selling festival food and cold drinks.

Entering the rainy season
The rainy season has finally arrived in the Kanto region. Light rains have fallen on and off since the morning even though the Meteorological Agency has officaially announced we have entered the rainy season.

It will be damp for the next month.

This weather makes you want to stay inside and creates a sad and grey mood in us.
Well then, how about we change our interior to liven our mood?

We updated the interior of our showroom exhibition the other day. Please come along for to visit our fresh space, undefeatable by the rain.

Cherry blossoms in full bloom

Spring is known to be the time for hanami (flower watching) so have you been out to view the cherry blossoms yet?

This week it looks absolutely like spring and it is indeed perfect cherry blossom viewing weather.
It was hot during the daytime yesterday although today's weather has remained unsettled.

Cherry blossoms that I looked at last weekend have become in full bloom.

Near the May's showroom there is the spot where we can enjoy seeing cherry blossom.
With digital camera in hand I experienced feeling of spring.

Cherry blossom Hill 30 seconds on foot from May's

The Akasaka Intercity rises above the cherry blossoms.

Individual cherry blossoms are very beautiful.

Lights have been prepared for eople to enjoy the cherry blossoms in the evening.

As it was still bright, the lighting can just be made out.

It is such a great feeling.
It is worth seeing even if you have to endure a little cold weather.

Because cherry blossoms have a short blossoming time, please take a little time to enjoy viewing them.

I went to Den-en-chofu to deliver some goods and saw the beautiful cherry blossoms along the railway line.
It is very special so please go and see.

Because the weather is warm and also cool, please take care not to catch a cold.

New start in life

Time sure flies! It has already become April.
Today, many people will be starting a new life. Will you be doing so too?

Students and new employees think about how to start a new life.
Although I believe there are a variety of different methods, lets try to do our best with what we are able to achieve now.
Talking about making a new start in life, I went and viewed the coming of the Sakura 桜 (Cherry blossoms) close by to the May's showroom.

Since this photo was taken on the 1st of April, the flowers aren't in full bloom yet.

I tried to get closer, and closer and managed to get this shot.
The flowers should be in full bloom at the end of this week.

By the way, there are many events held for the cherry blossom season in many different places.

One of those events, the "ARK HILLS cherry blossoms festival", was held nearby May's at the ARK HILLS complex .

The festival had been on for three days from Friday the 30th of March to Sunday the 1st of April.
Even though it was the last day it was quite crowed.

Spot lights have been attached to the trees to illuminate the blossoms during night time.
Please come and enjoy viewing the fully bloomed blossoms lit up in the night sky.

The evenings are still cold during April so please wear warm clothing when venturing out to see the cherry blossoms to avoid catching a cold.

2012 Cherry Blossom season

According to the Japanese Weather site Weathermap, Tokyo's Cherry Blossoms are expected to begin blooming from the 29th of March.
The best viewing dates are predicted between 4th and 10th of April.
The practice of viewing the Cherry Blossoms is called Hanami and it often involves  setting up a picnic with family, friends and work colleagues surrounded by blossoms.
It is a very civilised and relaxing way to celebrate the coming of Spring.

Sky Tree

I went to see Sky tree last week.

It is a TV tower which boasts a height of 634m making this tower one of the world's tallest.
It is not open yet, so I could only see it from the neighborhood, but it is still worth a look.

It’s located about 1km east of Asakusa - a town filled with the atmosphere of a shitamachi (the traditional name for the area of Tokyo that extends from Taito, Chiyoda and Chuo Wards east of the Sumida River where many merchants, craftsmen, etc. reside) - and about 2km northeast of Ryogoku - a town famous for sumo wrestling.
The new tower stands in a major traditional and international tourism zone of Japan.

It’s grand opening will be May 22th.
I heard that the tickets have sold out already, but it still nice to see from Asakusa.

Why don’t you check it out !!
