This triangle shaped
building is the showroom for “Minotti”, a textile and furnishing brand
originated in Milan.
Around
this area, Tokyo designer’s week was held from 10.25-11.03.
It’s an international design event which celebrated its
29th anniversary this year. The event mainly takes place at Meiji Jingu
Gaienmae, but the festival influences a wide area in
Tokyo every year.
For example, many interior brands introduce
their new collections while this event. So it is a good timing to visit these shops
during the festival for sure, and even after the festival to avoid the crowd.
The showroom for “è interiors”
stands across Nezu museum. You should also take a look at the building planned
by Piero Lissoni. The picture is a model
room display for one-room apartment (In Japan so called “1LDK”).
This is a new side table from è interiors. The half-piped leg could be nested to the
other, which makes the table stack-able.
The showroom of Flexform lies between è
interiors and Minotti.
The day bed on the right hand is “Magi”
which won the Elle Deco design award this year.
Besides these mentioned places, there are more
showrooms around this Aoyama area, such as Fritz Hansen, estic, GERVAZONI, etc…etc.
How about taking a walk to feel the breeze
of new trends?
